What data we collect
We collect the following personal data when you interact with this site:
- First name and email address — provided voluntarily when you download The Codified Self whitepaper or join a product waitlist.
- Company/institution and role — optional, and only if you choose to provide them.
- Anonymised usage data — pages visited, time on site, approximate geographic region, device type, and referral source.

Marketing communications
If you download the whitepaper or join the waitlist, you may receive occasional emails from Modern Equivalent relevant to your interests — including updates, new resources, and event information. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us directly at the address below, and we will remove you promptly.
We will never send spam. We will never sell your data. Ever.
Do we use cookies?
No. This site sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies.
Usage analytics are provided by Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless — it records aggregate, anonymised page views without storing an identifier on your device or tracking you across sites. We do not use Google Analytics.
The only thing we store in your browser is a single local-storage entry recording that you have dismissed the cookie notice, so we do not show it to you on every visit. It contains no personal data and is never sent to us.
How we store your data
Personal data collected via our forms is stored in a private, access-controlled Postgres database hosted in the United Kingdom (London) by Neon and provisioned through Vercel. It is accessible only to Modern Equivalent. We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or until you request its removal.
Third parties
We rely on the following processors:
- Vercel Inc. — hosts this site, provides the anonymised, cookieless analytics described above, and provisions the database named below, under their Privacy Policy.
- Neon Inc. — provides the managed Postgres database in which the personal data submitted through our forms (first name, email, and any optional company or role) is stored, for the purpose of delivering requested content and correspondence.
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — delivers the internal notification email that tells us a form has been submitted. That email contains the details you provided.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any other third party.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Portability — request your data in a portable format

Data breaches
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where required by law.
